How we collect your personal data


When you visit our website

When you visit our website, we may collect and process certain personal data through the use of cookies. For more information on our use of cookies and your ability to choose which cookies you accept, please see our Cookie Notice.

Data you actively provide

We collect personal data that you actively provide to us, such as:
● Basic contact details including your name, address, phone number, email address.
● Order information including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment confirmation, email address, phone number.
● Account information including your username, password, security questions.
● Shopping information including the items you view, put in your cart or add to your wishlist.
● Customer support information including the information you choose to include in communications with us, for example, when sending a message through the Services.

We collect personal data that you actively provide to us, such as your name, phone number, and email address. This occurs when you sign up for our newsletter, when your order products and services, when you purchase products from store.estelle.com or when you contact customer support for assistance with Estelle products.

If you have ordered and received an Estelle streaming product (a “Device”), you will need to connect the Device to a Wi-Fi network to enable its proper installation and function. Through the Device, you will have the opportunity to register an account with us (“Estelle Account”). Registering an Estelle Account with us requires that you provide us with some personal data about yourself.

We may also ask you to provide personal data such as name and contact details that are required to support or claims that you present to us.

Automatically collected data

If you have chosen to register an Estelle Account with us, we may automatically gather device log data from your Device (“Log Data”) for the purpose of device troubleshooting and product development purposes. Log Data is normally anonymized instantly after it has been collected.

Below you find a description of what personal data we process and why we process it. For at detailed description, please also refer to the section List of data processing activities below.

When you contact us in general matters

The data we process is your name, email address and phone number. We process this data to be able to communicate with you in general matters regarding our products and services.

When you sign up for an Estelle Account and use your Device

The data we process is your name, email address, country of residence, language preferences, your age and your order history. We use this data to fulfill the agreement we have with you. You may also choose to provide us with voluntary profile information such as city, postal code, gender, and interests. In addition, we may also use your data for marketing purposes.

We also process Log Data which we use for ensuring that your Estelle product and/or service to perform its fundamental functions securely. Log data may also be used for troubleshooting your Device and enable us to develop and offer improved Estelle products.

Legal basis for our processing of your data

We process your personal data for the purposes described below. For a full description of different processing activities, purpose and legal basis, please refer to the section List of data processing activities below.

When you visit our website

The legal basis for processing your personal data depends on the type of cookie through which the information has been obtained. Our use of essential cookies is based on our legitimate interest in providing a functional website. Our use of other cookies requires your consent (which you can withdraw at any time), which is also our legal basis for such use. When you contact us in general matters

When we process your name, email address and phone number to be able to communicate to you in general matters, the processing of your data is based on our legitimate interest to be able to carry out such communication.

When you sign up for an Estelle Account and use your Device

The legal basis for processing your basic Estelle Account data (name, email address, country of residence, language preferences, your age, and your order history) is the contract between you and us. If you choose to provide us voluntary profile information (such as city, postal code, gender, and interests), the legal basis for processing your data is our legitimate interest providing enhanced Estelle Account features.

We may also process your basic Estelle Account data for marketing purposes. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest of communicating with you about new and improved products and services.

The legal basis for using Log Data is our legitimate interest to provide fully functional products and services, troubleshooting of your Device and general product development purposes.

In addition, we may also need to process your data to ensure that we meet your legal right to complain about a product. The legal basis for such processing is legal obligations.

How long we keep your data

When you contact us in general matters

When we communicate with you in a general matter, we delete the data associated with the communication within 6 months from the when the matter has been closed.

When you sign up for an Estelle Account and use your Device

We will retain your Estelle Account data as long as you are registered with an Estelle Account plus a period of up to 2 years after the account has been terminated and all our obligations under the agreement between you and us have been fulfilled.

Log Data are normally anonymized instantly after we have collected it. The anonymization methods we use ensure that the data does not qualify as personal data once the anonymization has been made.

Should we for any reason be legally obliged to maintain your personal data for a long period of time than as set out above, your data will be deleted as soon as we are no longer obliged to retain it. As an example, this may apply during such period of time that you have a legal right to complain about a product you have purchased from us.

With whom do we share your data?

As a general rule, we do not disclose your personal data to anyone else. However, we may need to share some basic information (such as name, contact details and tracking number) with our logistics partners if you make a complaint about your Device and we need to transport and/or repair your Device. In addition, your data may be shared with subcontractors who are only authorized to process the personal data they receive from us on our behalf, so-called data processors. Examples of data processors are software and data storage providers. 

Information We Obtain from Third Parties

We may obtain information about you from third parties, including from vendors and service providers who may collect information on our behalf, such as:
● Companies who support our Site and Services, such as Shopify.
● Our payment processors, who collect payment information (e.g., bank account, credit or debit card information, billing address) to process your payment in order to fulfill your orders and provide you with products or services you have requested, in order to perform our contract with you.

Any information we obtain from third parties will be treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We are not responsible or liable for the accuracy of the information provided to us by third parties and are not responsible for any third party's policies or practices.

Where do we process your data?

We always aim to process your personal data within the EU/EEA. However, in certain situations, such as when we share your information with, for example, an IT provider with operations outside the EU/EEA, your personal data may be processed outside the EU/EEA. If and when your data is processed outside the EU/EEA, we will ensure that there is an adequate level of protection and that appropriate safeguards are in place (for example, through the use of the European Commission's standard contractual clauses).

Your rights as a data subject

As a data subject, you have certain rights in relation to the processing of your personal data. If you wish to exercise any of them, please contact us via support@estelle.com.
• Right of access: you have the right to obtain information about what personal data we process about you, including the purpose of the processing and the legal basis for the processing.

• Right to rectification: if you believe that we are processing inaccurate personal data about you, you can ask us to rectify it.

• Right to restriction of processing: you can request that we restrict the processing of your personal data. This may be relevant, for example, if we have inaccurate data about you and you do not want the processing to continue until we have corrected the data.

• Right to erasure / right to be forgotten: you can request that we delete your personal data. While we will comply with such a request to the extent required by applicable law, please note that despite your request, we may continue to process certain data (such as data that we need to retain to protect our legal interests or that we are required to retain by law).

• Right to object: in connection with the processing of personal data based on legitimate interest, you have the right to object to the use of your personal data. If your privacy interests outweigh our interests in processing certain data, we will stop processing such data.

• Right to data portability: you may also have the right to access the personal data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly accepted and machine-readable format, as well as the right to transfer the data to another data controller.
